www.missteencanadainternational.comBeing "young" doesn't stop Monika from achieving great things. The day she discovered the lens of a camera and the power of story telling, she also discovered her natural passion for broadcast journalism. She started working towards her career goal at the age of fifteen, and at the age of twenty-one she is already known as a devoted volunteer, youth leader, and respectable journalist within the community.
Monika attends Ryerson University's prestigious School of Journalism in Toronto, where she currently majors in Broadcast. She has been a familiar face on Rogers Television in the Peel Region since 2005, doing everything from sports anchoring on "First Local" to live-on-location hosting for "Daytime". After two years of volunteering at Rogers, she became the Host and Producer of a new show called "Me-TV" which was (no surprise here!) all about the community.
Monika is an advocate for volunteering, and she has been involved in city events since the age of 15. After dedicating over 2,000 hours of volunteer work to local charities and events in one year alone, she was recognized for her enthusiasm at the 2004 Mississauga Youth Achievement Awards, receiving the Edulinx Youth Volunteer Award and Scholarship. She currently works for the Toronto Maple Leafs NHL Team as the In-Arena Host.
